Jetty Park Fort Pierce, FL. Wish you were here.
They don’t call Fort Pierce The Sunrise City for nothing. So, I headed over to Jetty Park first thing in the morning to catch the sun rising over the Atlantic Ocean.
Jetty Park is a great place to sit on a bench and watch the birds, boats, or people watching. At Fort Pierce, Jetty Park is nestled at the end of a gorgeous drive with a pier to fish or snap pictures from, benches along the waterfront, and restroom/changing facilities. If I lived closer, it would be one of my favorite places to visit.
Fishing
Bring your fishing gear and throw a line in the water or watch the fishermen casting their lines in the water as you walk down the jetty. Fishermen are known to catch anything from snook to sheepshead, snapper, and more.
Art
4 Historical Gazebos feature Fort Pierce’s involvement in World War II, The Vietnam War, and the Navy SEALs. Stroll around the park and learn how Fort Pierce played a huge role in the military. If you have some time in the area and want to learn more, visit the National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum just outside Fort Pierce to the north.
We strolled through the paved walks-ways lined with palms and noticed benches with fish mosaics scattered throughout the park.
Hit the Beach
Ready for some relaxation? Hit the sand and enjoy the sounds of the gentle waves from the Atlantic Ocean on the beach. Watch the pelicans diving for fish in the waters or look for seashells along the waterline. On a windy day, you can even watch kitesurfers gliding across the water.
Dining Options
There are several places within walking distance of Jetty Park. Grab a hamburger or some wings at Hurricane Grill and Wings. This is the original location for this franchise. Just walk in and take a seat, kick back, and experience great food and drinks and no worries. There is a hurricane party every night here.
There are several other restaurants in the area to have lunch or get something to quench your thirst.
The Square Grouper Tiki Bar is a favorite watering hole in the area and another great place for a quick bite.
There are covered picnic tables and grills for cooking if you want to bring your own lunch. This is a place to bring your family for a BBQ.
Beautiful Walk
Take the beautiful and relaxing scenic walk down the jetty. The scenery and the ocean are breathtaking. This is a great way to spend a few hours or the whole day. Take in the sights of the birds, the people and breath in that fresh salt air.
There are many benches and places to sit and relax at the water’s edge.
Views
Nothing beats just sitting back and relaxing on one of the bench swings and watching the boats pass by along the Fort Pierce Inlet. With a cool breeze in the air, you could sit for hours.
Nature
In addition to watching the boat traffic, there is lots of wildlife such as pelicans and other sea birds.
