Spending the Day at Juno Beach Pier
It’s November in South Florida. Hopefully, we have seen the last storm of hurricane season. I headed down to the Juno Beach Pier for the last peek of sunshine before the gray clouds moved in. I arrived at first light before the sun peaked out from behind the clouds.
Location
Juno Beach is located in Palm Beach County, Florida, just about 6 miles south of the Jupiter Inlet, and is a wonderful place to watch the sunrise.
Spectacular Sunrises
Folks start gathering early to stake out the perfect viewing spot to watch the beauty of a sunrise over the pier. The sunrises here at Juno Beach rank as one of the top places to view a sunrise in the country.
Rated for its startlingly beautiful sunrises, Juno Beach rarely disappoints. When I visited just before a storm, the skies opened up just as the sun broke over the horizon. That short time was enough to leave me impressed and pleased to have witnessed a sunrise so scenic and memorable.
Fishing
The Juno Beach Pier is a 990-foot pier with a bait shop and snack bar and great saltwater fishing. Bluefish, Spanish mackerel, Pompano, Jack, Blue runners, Croaker, and Whiting all are caught off the pier. The full-service Pier House features a snack bar, and a variety of fishing tackle, including rental poles and bait.
With fairly consistent surf, the Juno Beach Pier is also a hotspot for local surfers. If you don’t surf, it makes a great place to watch. You can watch from the beach or walk out on the pier for an excellent viewpoint.
Juno Beach
Pack your beach chairs and after sunrise, stick around and enjoy the beach. Juno Beach itself is a family-friendly, clean, and lifeguard-protected beach area, with plenty of free parking at Juno Beach Park across the street. There are also bathrooms and showers available. So pack your beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, and skimboards, and head on down.
In an area that’s famous for its beaches, some of the finest, less crowded beaches can be found in the town of Juno Beach.
The Juno Beach Pier is located across from Juno Beach Park, located at 14775 U.S. Highway 1, Juno Beach, Florida. There is a small fee to access the pier.
The Pier is managed by the Loggerhead Marinelife Center just south of the pier. The center is a sea turtle research, rehabilitation, education, and conservation center and is worth a visit.
