Navy SEAL Museum Ft Pierce, FL

The Navy SEAL Museum first caught my attention when I had some old Navy memorabilia belonging to my Dad that I wanted to donate. After bringing it to the museum, I talked with the curators and told them what I knew about the items. Afterward, they invited me to tour the museum.

National Navy SEAL Museum

To begin with, the National Navy SEAL Museum is dedicated solely to preserving the history of the United States Navy SEALs.

Located in Fort Pierce, Florida, the Museum resides on the training grounds of the original Navy combat divers, the Frogmen. SEAL stands for SEA, AIR & LAND.

In a word, the displays are CAPTIVATING. Inside the NAVY SEALs museum are videos, weapons, documents, and other artifacts that chronicle the storied history of these elite units, from inception to the present.

Tools of the Trade

Promoting Public Education

The main objective of the Museum is a focus on public education by providing the opportunity to explore the history of the United States Navy SEALs through interactive exhibits. The displays are set up so that you can climb aboard this Sikorsky UH-60 “Black Hawk” Helicopter. This craft is a four-bladed, twin-engine, medium-lift utility helicopter. On January 25th, 2012, a team of United States Navy SEALs raided a compound killing nine Somali pirates and freeing hostages, U.S citizen Jessica Buchanan and Danish citizen Poul Hagen Thisted. This is the Black Hawk helicopter that flew them to safety.

The Museum is home to a unique collection of weapons dating from the earliest days of special warfare. In fact, Navy SEALs have the reputation of using the best weapons available in the world.

Desert Storm Vehicles like this up-armored Humvee have become the standard in Afghanistan and Iraq post 9/11.

Honoring Navy SEALs

The National Navy SEAL Museum is home to the only Memorial dedicated solely to honoring Navy SEALs and Frogmen for their sacrifice and love of country. In particular, the centerpiece of the Memorial is a bronze sculpture of a modern Navy SEAL combat swimmer. The names of all the Frogmen from World War II to today’s Navy SEALs who have died in combat and training are carved into black, granite panels on the walls surrounding the sculpture and its reflecting pool.

Finally, make your last stop at the gift shop. The museum has an impressive selection of Navy SEAL memorabilia and unique gift items for all ages. Shop novelties, jewelry, drinkware, apparel, outdoor gear, toys, books, games, and much more for men, women, and children.
